Jean-Paul Industries, LLC has launched It’s On Point (ItsOnPoint.com), an AI-assisted case research service for attorneys. An attorney submits one legal question with the jurisdiction and key facts, and It’s On Point returns the real cases that fit, each linked, quoted verbatim and explained, together with a research memo.
Real cases only
AI tools that answer from memory can invent citations. It’s On Point works the other way around: the cases come first, retrieved from CourtListener, the case-law database of the Free Law Project, and the AI only reads and explains what was retrieved.
- Retrieve: search queries planned from the request run against CourtListener with the requested court and date filters.
- Read: the full text of the strongest candidate opinions is fetched and read, not just search snippets.
- Analyze: each opinion is scored for relevance, with an explanation of how it helps or hurts the attorney's stated position, based only on that opinion's text.
- Verify: every case, citation and quotation is checked against the retrieved text, and anything that does not match is removed.
What each report includes
Ranked cases with name, citation, court and date; a relevance score and label; a holding summary and fact comparison; a verbatim quotation from the opinion; a link to each opinion; and a concise research memo with a short answer, analysis, gaps and next steps. Coverage includes the federal circuits and all 50 states.
Simple pricing
Each research topic is a flat $99, paid through PayPal, with no subscription or hourly billing. Research begins only after payment is confirmed. It’s On Point is intended for licensed attorneys, who should verify all authorities before relying on them. The service does not provide legal advice.
